Candidate Bill of Rights Continued

You have the right to expect honesty. Your placement specialist should never promise more than he or she can reasonably expect to deliver. If your placement expert does not believe that he or she will be able to find a position that matches your skills, background and interests, this should be stated immediately. In addition, when an opportunity is presented to you, it should be presented accurately, without exaggerated claims.

You have the right to know that you are respected as a professional, and that your placement specialist appreciates your choice to work with him or her. Although the hiring institution pays the agency’s fee for each placement, it is the willingness of quality legal professionals to work with the agency that makes each placement possible. Thus, the placement specialist should recognize his or her obligation to provide superior service to each candidate as well as to its paying clients.

You have a right to expect that your placement specialist will be responsive to your concerns, even after you have been placed. Your placement specialist should be responsive regarding questions or concerns that arise after you have been placed on a temporary assignment, and should work with you to address them whenever possible. If you have been placed with a client on a direct-hire basis, your placement expert should remain available as you familiarize yourself with your new role, so that he or she can assist in addressing your concerns if it is appropriate to do so. This helps to facilitate the long-term success of the placement, and makes the placement specialist aware of any new information that should be taken into account during subsequent placements.
